  We booked over the internet. The payment policy states clearly that the "credit card holder must be present". As our driver and credit card holder were two different members of our party, they would not allow us to hire a car, leaving us stranded. Thank Goodness for taxis! Throughout the whole experience, the staff members were completely unhelpful and unsympathetic, repeatedly stating that this policy is in the terms and conditions (it is not worded that way at all). One staff member also pretended to call a supervisor further up - which he would not do in front of us - and with a result not in our favour.

  I've used Budget a few times. This time they charged my card, without any warning, additional $400. I called them and they said it was a new policy, and they charge everyone a $400 bond now, and I would get it back in 1-3 weeks !!! Nobody told me about this, and my booking and invoice don't show this in the total to be charged either. Provided I'm a student, this could have seen me in serious trouble! VERY UNHAPPY, and will not use Budget again. :( I recommend Thrifty, who are equally competitive and haven't charged me any hidden fees in the past.
